All Articles Notes Links Books

Been doing some work on the website to bring back post types on the site properly (something I haven't had since switching from Kirby).

I now have articles, links, notes and books, all on the homepage and filterable. Hopefully nothing is too messed up in the RSS feed! 😟

Dammit, my second print somehow went wrong. I think it's because I dont have the printer on the steadiest of surfaces. Will move and try again.

So my first #3DPrint seems to be going ok. Bit of a faff loading the filament, but relatively painless all in all.

I went for a Bambu A1 Mini - won't need to print anything large.

I've been thinking about getting a #3DPrinter recently. Never used one before but I think it would be useful/interesting.

I have no experience with them, and don't want to spend a tonne of money. Ease of use and quality would be my highest priorities I think.

Any recommendations? Remember, I'm in the UK. 🇬🇧

It always makes me sad when bloggers have no way of easily contacting them on their site.

I'd love to talk to you about your last post, but there's no way to email or comment. Posting your Twitter handle aint gonna cut it.

Is it so hard to add an "email me" link at the bottom of the post? 😏

Lovely sourdough toast for breakfast. The old girl knows there might be some crust going spare too - she isn't daft!

Went for another run this evening, was planning to do 3km again, but I felt good at the halfway point so I carried on.

I ended up doing 5km and was hoping to do it in <35 mins. Imagine my surprise when I did it in 30:21! Well impressed, but I think I over did it and I'll be sore tomorrow. 🤣

|

Went for my first run in goodness knows how long last night. Managed 3km in in 21 min with an avg heart rate of 172bpm(!)

Considering I used to do 5km in 18 mins, this is disappointing, but i need to focus on the positives...I got off my arse and ran!

I want to love #Vivaldi, I really do, and the new design for v8 looks great. But the lack of ability to automatically switch to dark mode in Gnome is a deal-breaker for me (I think it's a bug). Here's a demo video of Vivaldi (right) and Firefox (left).

I missed "space bar to view images" from my MacOS days, but thanks to a recent post on OMG Ubuntu, I discovered Sushi and it works perfectly!

Finally got to North Carolina - after 21 hours of travel I'm showered and in bed. 🥱

Nice evening walk in the field with the pooches.

TIL (thanks to @wimpy) that it costs ~£475 per year to publish and sign an app in the Apple store. No wonder every app in the app store costs a few $/month.

It's almost developer hostile. Let the devs keep the money they have earned, you money grabbing bastards.

Wife was away on a farming course today, so it was just me and the boys. The entire day was spent outside with the animals, playing and doing jobs.

We got McD's for tea and now I feel sick. The Biscoff McFlurry was a step too far.

Great day though.

Had fibre to the premises (FTTP) installed this morning - big upgrade in speed, both up and down, and my provider kept my static IP in place. Very happy.

Just need to see how quick it gets to over the next few days now.

Filled up my wife's car with diesel just now. £107 for 56 litres!! It's usually around £65-70 to fill up.

By comparison, my EV costs around £12 to "fill up" with electricity. I think we need to consider getting my wife an EV too!

(Sorry, Americans, I can't be bothered converting to freedom units)

Seriously considering a switch from #GitHub to #Codeberg after reading the post below, but I'm not sure I have the energy for it.

Every time i walk up the stairs I see my poor little #Framework, sat there in pieces waiting for its new board. 😟

There's something about writing with a fountain pen that's just really nice. Even when it's a cheap Lamy - still far nicer than a ballpoint. Make me want to write.

Ah gutted. I bought a #Framework Ryzen 7 AI 350 series a few days ago for £699, only for them to now be discounted to £599. Great timing, Kev! 🤦🏼‍♂️️
