The Wild Robot Escapes
Author: Peter Brown
Genre: Children's Fiction
Released: 2018
Rating:
Roz has been taken from the island and put to work on a mainland farm, forced to pretend she is an ordinary robot. But she cannot forget the island, her animal friends, or her beloved Brightbill — and she is determined to find her way back. A heartfelt sequel that tackles themes of family, belonging, and the meaning of home with the same gentle honesty as the first book.
Like the first book, the kids really enjoyed this one. This is actually their second time going through this series, as my wife has already read the books to them.
There's some sad parts to the book, but just like the first one, Brown deals with very grown-up topics, like death, in a way that helps kids understand, I think.
We started book 3 last night, but my wife said it's nowhere near as good as the other 2. We will see.
